Islington Public School

A nature based cultural area that fosters Indigenous education and appreciation, inviting children to learn and connect with the land in meaningful ways. Here, stories and traditions intertwine with the natural world, creating a space for learning and respect.

Schools Infrastructure NSW contacted Hortscapes to construct a culturally significant area for Islington Public School, developed in close consultation with the local Indigenous community and architecture students from the University of Newcastle. The collaborative effort was immensely enriching and rewarding, as it allowed us to bring their collective vision to vibrant life, fostering a space deeply rooted in cultural significance and community pride.
